Art Lesson:Sea Turtles

This is one of my favorite lessons!

The Sea Turtle! This lesson involved learning about the life cycle of the Turtle. How they are born, make it to sea and survive. We learned that Sea Turtles have patterns on their shell and their fins and that they have a beak for a mouth so they can eat certain foods.

This lesson was done for all classes. For the younger classes marker was the choice media but for the older classes this was their first lesson in shading. They learned how to shade with a pencil use a tortillion blending stump, and a kneaded eraser. It usually takes two lessons to complete and the kids are very proud of their hard work!
